Appreciate you sharing these insights, Mike. I've been thinking about writing a similar article about all the differences I see between Argentina (my wife's home country) and the U.S., as we live between here and there. Many similar realizations. I think it's safe to say that community and personal relationships are more revered in Latin American culture than they are in the U.S. My wife is always talking about how "unhealthy" people in the U.S. are, because they can't slow down enough to really enjoy shared company, and get below the surface with each other.
